John Mobilio: „strong currents, godspeed & mobi-wan“
John Mobilio
John Mobilio, born in 1973 in Orlando, Florida, won after high school a State Fine Arts Scholarship to attend Savannah College of Art and Design.
In 1992 he entered the University of Georgia Department of Art in Athens, Georgia. For several years he lived and worded as an artist in Athens showing and selling his art at varios venues public and private, including a successful solo showat the Blue Sky Gallery. John moved to New York City in 1999, where he continued to paint and show his work.
John moved to Hamburg, Germany in the fall of 2008 where he currently lives on a self-employed artist´s visa, the first to ever be issued by the Hamburg Visa Office. Since his arrival, he has been involved in various group and solo exhibitions.
His latest solo show „anti-depressionism“ at the Gallery Auf Halb Acht, in the fall of 2011, was a great success. In the spring of 2012 he was an artist in residence at the Heiko Beck Gallery, where he hosted „balls over hannover“. His paintings were also displayed in several grop shows in 2012 and 2013. John is currently looking to expand his exposure throughout Germany and Europe.
